KickStart Alliance Adds Clean Technology to Its Practice

Solar services startup retains veteran tech consultants to kickstart its new sales organization

Los Altos, CA, September 11, 2007—KickStart Alliance, a Silicon Valley technology marketing and sales consulting group, today announced their expansion into the clean technology sector with its first renewable energy client. Tioga Energy, provider of solar services to enterprises and organizations, has engaged KickStart to help them launch their marketing and sales initiatives.

KickStart Alliance has been providing consulting services to B2B technology companies since 2002, with a focus on software and telecom businesses. Their move into clean technology represents a broadening of the KickStart mission. Mary Sullivan, leader of the KickStart clean tech practice, says, "We see clean tech as a natural extension of the innovative thinking that has always fueled high tech and an evolution of KickStart's business."

Growth in clean technology is likely to be significant. CleanEdge, Inc., in its 2007 Clean Energy Trends Report, projects that revenues from four clean energy technologies—biofuels, solar, wind and fuel cells—will quadruple from over $55 billion in 2006 to more than $226 billion within a decade.

Because renewable energy providers interconnect with the regulated power grid, the telecom backgrounds of KickStart members bring relevant experience from firms that interconnect with regulated communications carriers.

The KickStart team's experience is well suited to clean technology. Paul Detering, CEO of Tioga Energy says, "We're putting client organizations on the fast track to renewable energy, and the market is heating up fast. We needed to ramp our marketing and sales operations quickly. KickStart's expertise and commitment is making the difference in launching our business on time."

KickStart helps clients drive sales in new markets through effective messaging, demand creation and establishment of viable sales processes. These capabilities apply equally well in information technology and clean technology.

KickStart members all agree they are pleased to be able to apply their broad and deep experience to the clean technology industry, which promises to "do well while doing good."
