Janet
has over 25 years of management experience with successful and innovative companies offering business productivity tools. Her business experience is in building highly effective sales organizations selling both direct and through channel partners. Janet is a cofounder of KickStart Alliance where she runs the sales readiness practice. Janet's most recent corporate experience was with ShoreTel where as the VP Sales in 3-years she helped the company turn-around to achieve profitability and rise from obscurity to #8 in IP Telephony marketshare. Prior to ShoreTel, Janet was as a member of the founding executive team at Latitude Communications (later acquired by Cisco), a pioneer in voice and web conferencing with the MeetingPlace conference server. In her six years as VP Sales at Latitude, Janet took the company from zero revenue to profitability and a successful IPO. Prior business experience includes Octel Communications (now Avaya) and ROLM/IBM (now Siemens). Janet received the Silicon Valley Tribute to Women in Industry (TWIN) Award in 1994. She graduated magna cum laude from Guilford College in Greensboro, NC and holds a B.A. in English. Janet is an active Junior Achievement volunteer.

Mary Gospe, co-founder of KickStart
Alliance, is a proven leader in initiating programs to build and nurture sales pipelines, shorten the sales cycle, and accelerate revenue creation. Her practice areas include planning and executing integrated marketing campaigns, building inside sales organizations, spinning up outsourced telemarketing vendors and streamlining sales and marketing operations. Prior to beginning her consulting career in 2000, Mary gained experience in a variety of sales, marketing and customer support leadership roles with Dialog Information Services, Apple Computer and Latitude Communications. Mary earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Cal State University, East Bay and an MBA from Santa Clara University. She also completed a certification in Direct and Interactive Marketing from San Jose State University.

Mary believes that customers buy for their reasons, not ours. She has dedicated her career to communicating the value of technology products and services from the customers’ perspective. Her practice areas include marketing process assessment, positioning and messaging, product launch planning and management, sales tools development and social media integration. Mary leads the clean technology practice at KickStart Alliance. Before co-founding KickStart, she was Director of Product Marketing for Phoenix Technologies’ network security infrastructure. As Senior Marketing Group Manager at Avaya, she led Product Marketing in their $600 million Communications Applications Group, managed Marketing Programs for Octel Communications (later acquired by Lucent), and held sales positions with Octel and Siemens. She completed extensive marketing coursework at UC Berkeley Extension. Mary is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Economics from San Francisco State University and attended the PhD Program in Resource Economics at University of California, Berkeley.

Mike Gospe is an accomplished leader, marketing strategist and corporate executive who understands what it takes to market and sell to today’s B2B companies. Mike has spent the last 23 years helping companies of all sizes to architect and implement the most effective marketing strategies and plans. His expertise is in integrated marketing and voice-of-the-customer programs including designing and facilitating Customer Advisory Board meetings and executive planning sessions. Mike leads KickStart’s marketing operations practice where, among other things, he conducts team-based “practical application working sessions” to improve the effectiveness of lead generation campaigns and product launches. His fun, practical approach and roll-up-his-sleeves attitude energizes teams, helping them to get “real work done” while guiding them to the next level of excellence. Mike is also a member of San Francisco State University’s faculty and teaches the course, “Essentials of Integrated Marketing.” He’s authored a number of marketing- and sales-related articles, and is a frequent guest speaker at companies, marketing associations, and university business schools. His new book, Marketing Campaign Development: what executives need to know about architecting global integrated marketing campaigns, is available on Amazon.com.
